When I first heard that Bane was going to be the next villain in the Dark Knight Rises, the end of Nolan's trilogy about Batman, I thought it was a joke. He was one of the low-key villains from the comics, and made an almost hysterical performance in Batman & Robin. I also couldn't believe Tom Hardy would be playing him either. But I thought about it, and I trust Chris Nolan wholeheartedly that he will continue this franchise with grace and that the third/end of it will go out with a bang!
