Win Win Review

Win Win is the story of depressed Mike Flaherty, a father of two girls and an attorney in New Jersey. He keeps himself happy by coaching a high school wrestling team, even though the team is awful. This movie is similar to the writer/director's, Thomas McCarthy, past work such as The Station Agent and The Visitor. His movies such as Win Win circle how an outsider can bring peace and excitement into our lives. When his boss' grandson comes into town, Mike takes care of him. He is a rebel and also a great wrestler who helps the team. But when his mom comes back to reclaim him, Mike has other plans due to the mother's checkered past. Win Win is a heartfelt and uplifting story on how one person can make a difference in a lot of different people's lives. It also includes great dialogue which is very funny at times. I give it a 3/5, and is entered in my Indie Movie of the Year competition.
